Overheard at our house this morning:

Cat, 7, to Tate, age 6: “….but I think it is time you knew the truth. Mom won’t tell you because she still wants you to believe. She still thinks of you as her baby. But, as your older sister, I really think that it’s important that you know something important that you believe isn’t true.”

Tate, “What Sissy?”

“Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, but there is someone that believe in, someone that you think is real, that really isn’t. And when you know the truth, it is going to be really really shocking because its someone you see on t.v. and you hear about all the time.”

“Who is it Cat? Just tell me already.”

“Okay Tater. I hate to be the one to tell you this but……..(long pause for dramatic effect) Hannah Montana is not real.”
